A number of Manchester United fans have accused Luke Shaw of being "disrespectful" during a post-match interview after scoring in England's 2-1 friendly win over Switzerland.
The full-back had a mixed game for the Three Lions. For Breel Embolo's opener, he stood off of Xherdan Shaqiri who delivered a cross that was met emphatically by the Swiss forward to make it 1-0. But the United player atoned for his error by thundering home the equaliser in first-half stoppage time.
Shaw was quizzed on his differing form for club and country and cited his enjoyment at meeting up his fellow England teammates. He said: "The environment here that Gareth creates, you always enjoy it. I think when I come here, for me it's about enjoyment, playing games with a smile on my face and enjoying it.

"I feel like here, when I come here I always do that, we all love playing for our country." He later added: "I think everyone does. It's always important to feel like you're wanted.
"Especially here, I always feel that. I'm not saying I don't at United but especially here, the way things are, I feel wanted, I enjoy my football."
Some United fans were less than impressed with Shaw's comments. Here's how they aired their views on Twitter.
@tedtrottalong: "Luke Shaw giving us a bit of a battering in his post game presser."
@Carpente7Paul: "So Luke Shaw enjoys playing for England. He has a positive outlook & plays with a smile on his face when representing his country. As for United, they clearly suck. Thanks Luke Shaw, United only pay your fucking wages. FFS, how you can come out & say that? Wow."
@DMBarnes95: "@ManUtd I’d be fining Luke Shaw for that interview - if you can’t enjoy playing for Manchester United - there are millions who would."
@paulottey: "Lol Luke Shaw doesn't like it at United."
@graeme247: "@LukeShaw23 mouthing off on England duty, bit like @HarryMaguire93 putting his fingers in his ears, tell you what lads, you don't enjoy it, the doors there!"
@zeleLUHG: " Said Man Utd fans are too disrespectful to him and he's show what he can do for England. Basically he said he's too good for us"

Others took a different perspective, reasoning with the United defender. Here are their thoughts.
@JonnyWharton: Not sure what to make of Luke Shaw’s post match interview, anyone? Clear digs at United but why is he being asked off the back of an England game anyway?
@LPodengo: Luke Shaw’s interview gives an insight into how depressing things at United are right now. Our online fanbase is having a huge impact on our players.
@TabrejaliAdam: Luke Shaw was asked the question about Manchester United. At least he is being honest about the current atmosphere at the club. It’s okay for fans to talk about the club but when the player does, “how dare he?” Bore off.
