Manchester United 'eye' shock Liverpool transfer as £42m Sadio Mane Bayern Munich claim made

The transfer window opens today and Liverpool are already deep into their summer business with reports of a move for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

Key to a move for the 22-year-old will be the departures of fringe players in Jurgen Klopp's squad. Along with Sadio Mane, the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino are also attracting interest.

Here's a round-up of all the latest Liverpool transfer rumours from around the globe.

Manchester United are 'weighing' up a move for Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to reports.

The midfielder could depart Anfield this summer due to limited game time and talkSPORT's Alex Crook claims the Premier League rivals are considering a move if the Reds were to accept 'a knockdown fee of £10m'.

United are short on midfielders following a number of departures including Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic. West Ham and Aston Villa have also been linked with Oxlade-Chamberlain in recent weeks.

According to the report, Liverpool expect Bayern Munich to make a third bid to meet their valuation of around £42m for Sadio Mane.

The report then claims that the fee would trigger their own £68m plus £17m in add-ons bid for Benfica's Darwin Nunez. As reported by the ECHO, the Reds have targeted Nunez as they look to continue remoulding their attack following the arrivals in recent years of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.

Nunez wants a move to Anfield although Liverpool are reluctant to do business at Benfica's asking price of €100million (£85.5m) and won't be drawn into a bidding war, with Manchester United in particular also interested in the player.

While Bayern want to sign the Senegal international, who is approaching the final year of his deal. Liverpool have already rejected two bids from the Bundesliga side but will accept an offer approaching £42.75m - the same as Bayern are asking from Barcelona for Robert Lewandowski.

A trio of Premier League clubs are interested in signing Liverpool's Takumi Minamino, according to reports.

The ECHO understands, also reported in The Athletic, the Japanese international will be free to leave Anfield this summer if the club's £17m asking price is met. It is also understood Southampton, Leeds United and Wolves are all keen.

Abroad, Monaco also reportedly hold an interest in Minamino, who made just 24 appearances in all competitions last season.

Gavi

La Porteria

What?

Liverpool remain keen on Barcelona starlet Gavi, according to reports in Spain this week. A report from La Porteria claims the La Liga giants' contract proposal is still some way off the demands of the player.

The 17-year-old midfielder is out of contract in 2023 and the article adds he has at least two offers from Premier League clubs. They claim Liverpool are 'willing' to pay his release clause and offer €9 million a year salary.

It is, however, the player's preference to remain at the Camp Nou provided Barcelona are willing to meet his expectations. The youngster made 47 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals and registering six assists.
