Manchester United could earn £45m windfall on return to Champions League

Manchester United are preparing to rake in a fortune once again next season following their qualification for the Champions League.

Erik ten Hag guided the Reds to a third place finish in the Premier League, securing a spot in the group stages of the elite European competition. And with that comes added riches.

Before the Reds play a match the 2023-24 addition, they will bank roughly £13.48m just for qualifying. United will then earn £2.4m for every match won in the group stage, a significant jump from the £551,460 per victory in the group stages of this season's Europa League.

United banked just under £10million from their run to the last eight of the second tier competition this season. A spot in the last 16 of the Champions League would earn an £8.2m windfall. Reaching the quarter-finals brings £9.1m while £10.7m is on offer for semi-final appearance while £13.3m is given to each finalist with an added £3.8m to the winner.
