Manchester United confirm Old Trafford sell-out for FA Youth Cup final vs Nottingham Forest

Manchester United have confirmed there will be a sell-out crowd at Old Trafford for the FA Youth Cup final.

United's U18s host Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night and the club's youngsters will play in front of a full capacity Old Trafford as they bid to win the Youth Cup. United's website confirmed on Tuesday evening that more than 70,000 tickets have been sold for the match, including 6,000 away fans.

United are looking to win the Youth Cup for the first time since 2011. Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Ravel Morrison featured in that side, but the club's latest youngsters, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Dan Gore and Charlie McNeill, are now looking to extend United's rich history in the prestigious competition after a memorable campaign led by manager Travis Binnion

Tickets for the fixture were sold for just £1 and all the proceeds went towards the Manchester United Foundation, which works with disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester. United fans have turned out in their droves to support the U18s.

The full capacity crowd at Old Trafford also means United are set to smash the Youth Cup attendance record tomorrow night.

United were actually involved in setting the current highest attendance for a Youth Cup fixture in March 2007. That's because 38,137 supporters were in attendance at the Emirates Stadium when United played Arsenal in the first leg of that year's semi-final.

United have won the Youth Cup (10) more times than any club and they'll be bidding to extend that record.
