Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, according to reports.
Speculation suggesting the Poland international could make a move to Old Trafford has gathered pace in recent weeks and the latest report from Bild's Tobias Altschäffl suggests United's interest is mounting. This week, the Bayern striker fired in an 11-minute hat-trick to surpass the 40-goal mark for a seventh consecutive season.
"I can say with certainty that they are interested,” Altschäffl told the Bayern Insider podcast (via Sport Witness). "They have been interested in Lewandowski before, but that doesn’t mean that he will sign for United in the next few weeks.

"It’s not like that. Pini Zahavi [Lewandowski's agent] is exchanging with many clubs, and United has said that they would be interested if a situation arose that he could leave Munich.
"We know from the reporting of the last few days and weeks apparently that anything is possible at the moment. Lewi is unhappy."
United's line-up for last weekend's defeat to Manchester City seemingly reaffirmed Ralf Rangnick's belief that the club need to sign a new centre forward. The Manchester Evening News reported on Friday that United have enquired about Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.
Meanwhile, former United target Paulo Dybala could become available in the summer as Juventus appear set to allow him to leave on a free transfer. The Argentine has been at Juve since 2015 having signed from Palermo for an initial €32m (£26.7m).
Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Juventus hierarchy have lost faith in the Argentine. Dybala has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent seasons and could soon be on his way to England if the Turin giants decide not to offer him a new deal.
