Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for September.
Despite only playing two league matches this month because of two fixtures being postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Ten Hag guided United to two wins, one of which was against current table-toppers Arsenal. United beat the Gunners 3-1 at Old Trafford courtesy of two goals from Marcus Rashford, who has been nominated for the Player of the Month award, and one from debutant Antony.
Victory over the Gunners continued United's recent upturn in fortunes and stretched their winning run in the league to four matches. The Reds had kicked off their September schedule with a 1-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium three days earlier.

Ten Hag is one of three nominees in contention to win the award, joining Bournemouth interim boss Gary O'Neil and Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte on the shortlist. A United manager has not won the prestigious accolade since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in January 2019.
Conte also oversaw two wins out of two this month, watching his Spurs side beat both Fulham (2-1) and Leicester (6-2). The Londoners have enjoyed a strong start to the season and are still unbeaten in the league after seven games.
O'Neil, meanwhile, has taken five points in three matches since stepping into the role, four of which have been won this month. He guided his side to a thrilling 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, recovering from 2-0 down, before watching them earn a respectable point against Newcastle United last weekend.
United supporters can vote for Ten Hag to win the award via the Premier League website and the votes will be combined with those of a panel of football experts. The winner will be announced next week.
