Manchester United 'alerted' by Tammy Abraham transfer decision and more transfer rumours

Manchester United are set to enter the race to sign Roma striker Tammy Abraham - according to reports.

Having appointed Erik ten Hag as permanent manager this summer, United recruited six players including Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony. Martin Dubravka was also signed on-loan to offset Dean Henderson joining newly-promoted Nottingham Forest in a similar deal.

But with one eye on January and future windows, the Premier League giants have been mooted with interest in several more players. According to Corriere dello Sport, key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom have settled on Abraham as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo after he expressed a desire to leave.

Abraham, 24, signed for Roma from Chelsea last summer and has shone in Serie A during his time there. However, while the Londoner was previously quoted as saying he is in no rush to return to the Premier League, reports from Corriere dello Sport indicate he has changed his mind over that decision.

They credit United, Arsenal and former employers Chelsea with having an interest in his services. Chelsea are thought to have a buy-back clause around £68million after selling the England international for £34million.

Elsewhere, reports from Italy suggest United would face competition from Juventus should they attempt to sign Antoine Griezmann during the January window. Griezmann, 31, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford amid uncertainty over his Barcelona future.

Currently on loan with Atletico Madrid, there is a long-standing contractual dispute between those clubs and, as such, the World Cup winner could be available for transfer. Griezmann has two years left to run on his agreement with Barcelona and there would be plenty of interest in his signature.

According to Italian publication Gazzeta dello Sport - as per this article from Mail Online - Juventus would be one potential destination for the France international should he move on. United continue to search for a new forward as part of their own recruitment plans under Ten Hag.
