According to the Met Office, today's forecast says: "Any early morning mist quickly clearing, leaving the region with plenty of summer sunshine and temperatures rising. A light breeze will help it feel slightly less humid than recent days. Maximum temperature 27 °C."
It added: "Staying dry through the evening, with clear skies for most. The odd patch of low cloud developing in prone spots. Another warm night with a gentle easterly breeze. Minimum temperature 13 °C."
On Tuesday the Met Office confirmed that the heatwave threshold had been hit in the north west of England - after three days of temperatures over 25C.
It comes after the region was battered by storms throughout the early part of the week, with parts of Greater Manchester being hit by torrential rain, hail, thunder, and lightning. Some people even reported roads becoming flooded and spotting trees falling down, with some describing it as 'end of the world weather'.
While the next few days will remain warm and settled, the Met Office warned that there may be a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday due to rising humidity.
A heat health warning remains in place for the region until Monday.
