A popular restaurant in Chorlton know for its Scottish-Indian fusion food has closed its doors after just two and a half years in business. Roti on Barlow Moor Road made a name for itself serving up dishes ranging from haggis pakoras and mince and tatties, to cheese and onion bhajis.
Yet, despite its popularity, the owners of the fusion restaurant announced on social media earlier today that they had decided not to extend their lease on the Chorlton site. Thanking customers for their support over the last few years, the restaurant's owners hinted they could be back in the future but are currently only focusing on their other site in Sale.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the restaurant's owners shared a post which read: "Our time in Chorlton has come to an end for now. We'd like to thank each and every one of you who visited and supported us over the past 2.5 years especially during the harder times.

In the caption that accompanied the piece, the owners called Chorlton a "really are a special place", and encouraged fans of the restaurant to still come and visit them at their Sale branch on Stanley Square, while also taking the opportunity to highlight their January food offers.
The restaurant's followers expressed their sadness at the closure, with one person commenting: "sorry to hear this. I'll come and see you in sale once I'm back from India." Another added: "That's a real shame", while a third person said the restaurant should set up shop in Urmston.
The restaurant became known for it's Scottish classics including fish and chips, scotch eggs and haggis, often reinvented those dishes with an Indian makeover - and vice versa. Curries and street food plates are also still a staple of its menu in Sale, plus plenty of vegan options too.

Roti arrived on Barlow Moor Road in late 2019 as a small independent offer with an quirky bar. The owners opened a second site on Sale's Stanley Square in summer 2021 after building up a loyal following at its flagship site, joining the likes of Greens, Rudy's and Sugo Pasta Kitchen.
