El Gato Negro
High above King Street, El Gato’s top floor terrace is the perfect sun trap for glorious sunny days. And with its authentic tapas, you could actually be sunning yourself in Barcelona with a glass or two of rosado and a table groaning with small dishes.

Climat’s outside space is now coming into its own, after opening over the winter. With fabulous views across the city, you can nip in for a drink - they do walk-ins and fine line in bespoke cocktails - or bag a table on the terrace and explore the kitchen’s forward-thinking seasonal menu.

Honest Burgers
While rooftop restaurants might have an inherent air of poshness about them, you can also stuff down burgers and fries in the sun at Honest, on its hidden roof terrace. Great for a quick lunch or a more leisurely early evening visit as the sun goes down.

The Ivy
The Ivy’s handsome roof garden is a fine spot to soak up the sun over breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. There are miniature trees and climbing foliage to contrast with all the glass and steel of Spinningfields, regularly changing menus and a decent value set menu at lunch time.

20 Stories
No list of terrace spaces in the city would be complete without 20 Stories, with its fabulous views and its wrap-around outside space. The cocktails are excellent and the menu is no slouch either, taking in tasting menus, a great set lunch and even a spot of afternoon tea.

The Con Club
Altrincham’s old working men’s conservative club, now simply The Con Club, has a great rooftop space to relax with a drink and a few plates. Plus it serves all day from breakfast until supper, with roasts on a Sunday too.
