Manchester's best restaurants, bar, chef and businesses named at glittering This is Manchester Awards

The cream of Manchester from the hospitality, fashion, entertainment, sports and business world were honoured at a glittering awards night in Manchester. The This is Manchester Awards returned for a fourth annual event with an all-star guest list at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate.

And Manchester's best restaurants, bars, chefs and entrepreneurs were in attendance to hear if they had scooped one of the titles at the event. Winners on the night included former MasterChef champion Simon Wood, who claimed the title of Leading Chef for his work at his fine dining restaurant Wood in Manchester.

Leading Bar of the Year went to the ever-popular Oast House on Spinningfields, which is known for its seasonal events outside on its huge piazza. There were foodie honours for long-established Northern Quarter restaurant TNQ, as well as for all-you-can-eat meat restaurant Fazenda, while Middle-Eastern-inspired Habas was named Newcomer of the year.

The glittering bash was hosted by entrepreneur Scott Thomas and TV presenter Jenny Powell. Awards were presented to rising stars from the world of fashion, entertainment, sports, hospitality, technology, property, as well as those that have contributed to the betterment of the Greater Manchester community.
