Kyle Walker misses Manchester City’s home match against Watford on Saturday.
The defender is struggling with an ankle injury and did not come through a late fitness test ahead of the game at the Etihad.
Asked about Walker on Friday, City manager Pep Guardiola said: “He is getting better. We will see tomorrow.”
John Stones and Nathan Ake also faced late fitness tests after they were were forced off in the midweek 3-0 win over Brighton. Stones misses out altogether, while Ake is fit enough for the bench.
Ruben Dias has only recently made his return to action after a hamstring injury but is handed a start.
Further forward, there are no such concerns, although City’s huge Champions League semi-final meeting with Real Madrid could come into Guardiola’s thinking. It is very much a case of balancing things. Jack Grealish starts.
On paper, the champions should have enough to deal with a Watford side plummeting towards relegation, although the absences are certainly a worry.
Manchester City starting XI (4-3-3): Ederson, Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Rodri, Jesus, Sterling, Grealish
