Manchester City to ‘offer swap deal’ for Marc Cucurella and more transfer rumours

Manchester City could reportedly offer James McAtee to Brighton in exchange for Marc Cucurella.

Pep Guardiola is said to be after the Seagulls full-back after a fantastic debut Premier League season. Brighton price him at £40m and it is hoped that by including England Under-20 international McAtee in the deal, it could bring the fee down.

The 19-year-old has played six times for City's first team, most notably playing 45 minutes in the goalless Champions League Last 16 second leg encounter with Sporting Lisbon in March.

The Sun reports that Brighton were keeping tabs on the youngster in 2019 and so may warm to the idea of a swap deal. Cucurella had caught Guardiola’s eye before his exit from Barcelona to Getafe in 2020.

And with questions over Olek Zincehnko’s future, he could finally make a punt for the Spaniard, who only joined his current club last year. Zinchenko is being linked with a move to Arsenal with regular football on his mind.

As a result, Mundo Deportivo reports that Guardiola has shortlisted Crystal Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell as a possible Cucurella alternative. The 22-year-old was called up to the England squad for the first time in March after an impressive season at Selhurst Park.
