Man City star Kevin de Bruyne explains which stat is 'not important' to him

Kevin de Bruyne produced another masterclass at the weekend as Manchester City sealed a narrow win away at Leicester. The Belgian magician scored the only goal of the game with a superb free-kick from long-range just after the break.

That was his third goal of the season in which he has again proved the key cog in the City machine, with a staggering 11 assists already to his name. Now, speaking to City's website for a special film, the 31-year-old has given an insight into his mindset.

And he says that a key component of his game is that he is not afraid to make mistakes. He also revealed which particular statistic he has no time for.

He said: "A lot of time when people make mistakes, they don't do it anymore. When I make a mistake I try to do it twice more.

"I think it's a way of learning where you go wrong and you understand more when you make errors. Maybe I look at it in a different way to other people. For instance, pass completion is a word that I don't care about.

"It's not important to me because it doesn't define, in any way or form, the way that I play football. So I don't take it into account."

The stats from the win at the King Power would appear to back that up. De Bruyne registered a pass completion rate of 86 per cent - Jack Grealish was City's only other starter who recorded a lower figure during the course of the game.
