Manchester City travel to Brisbane Road this weekend to take on Tottenham in search of their second win in two games after beating Leicester 4-0 last time out. Those three points bumped City into eighth place in the table, just one spot behind weekend rival Spurs who sit on six points.
Rehanne Skinner’s side won their opening game 2-1 away at Leicester, took a heavy defeat in the north London derby, 4-0 away to Arsenal, and now face City after beating Liverpool 1-0 last weekend.
City opened their season with a 4-3 loss away to Villa, followed by a stronger performance, but a 2-0 loss at Kingsmeadow against Emma Hayes’ reigning Chelsea champions. In the first home game of the season, three City players found the net to bring them back into WSL business - Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw's laser focus and clinical finishing, Lauren Hemp’s header and Yui Hasegawa’s debut goal secured the win.

Spurs have scored three and conceded six in three league fixtures compared to City scoring seven and conceding six. Shaw sits as one of the WSL top scorers of the season alongside Arsenal's Beth Mead, Chelsea’s Fran Kirby and Rachel Daly from Aston Villa.
Even with top talent on the roster, Taylor believes it won’t be easy. He said: “Any team you face in the WSL is a tough challenge.
“In the games against them previously, whether in cup competition or in the league, they have been fairly tight.
“We’ve pretty much come out on the right side of the result every time apart from last season here. They’ll always provide a tough opposition for us.”
Another high-scoring win could potentially send City into the top end of the table with a game in hand over Chelsea, Everton and West Ham.
Tottenham and City kick-off is 11:30am on Saturday away at Brisbane Road.
