Manchester City Player Ratings vs PSG: Who Stood Out In Paris?

Manchester City suffered a bitterly disappointing 4-2 loss to PSG on match day 7 of the Champions League on Wednesday – and here are our player ratings for the reigning Premier League champions.

Manchester City Player Ratings vs PSG

Ederson – 4.5

Shipped four goals in a crucial European fixture, and although there wasn’t much he could’ve done for the first and third goals, he should’ve done better for Bradley Barcola’s leveller, and he gave the ball away for Goncalo Ramos’ late goal.

Matheus Nunes – 5.5

Did decent enough in the first-half when considering he’s playing out-of-position, however this was exploited in the second period as PSG threatened massively down Manchester City‘s right side.

Ruben Dias – 5

Picked up a yellow card early on and could well have been sent off for a silly challenge not too long after. Also lost several ground and aerial duels before being substituted at half-time.

Manuel Akanji – 6

Made some nice long range passes, completing four of an attempted five with an 84% pass accuracy rating, but lost possession a total of eight times throughout the game.

Josko Gvardiol – 5

Did well in the first-half, but like the remainder of City’s defence, struggled to deal with PSG’s lightning-quick attack in the second period. Also, his failed clearance put Ramos in on goal for the hosts’ fourth.

Mateo Kovacic – 5.5

Struggled to make an impact, especially in the second half. Like Akanji, he gave away possession a total of eight times.

Kevin De Bruyne – 6

Had a good chance to open the scoring in the first half but struck his effort straight at Gianluigi Donnarumma. Dribbled well at times, but often lost possession when City were breaking.

Bernardo Silva – 4.5

Missed a great chance to put City in front, but luckily for him, Jack Grealish slotted home the rebound. Other than that, the Portuguese midfielder didn’t make much of an impact during the game.

Phil Foden – 6.5

Delivered several key passes as well as some nice crosses into dangerous areas but failed to register a goal involvement.

Erling Haaland – 7

Was in a great position to turn home City’s second after some nice work by half-time substitute Grealish and won the majority of his aerial duels against Marquinhos and Willian Pacho.

Savinho – 4.5

Lost possession on multiple occasions, created zero chances, made zero key passes, completed zero successful dribbles, delivered zero accurate crosses, won zero duels and won zero fouls. Oh, and he was hooked at half-time.

Substitutes

Jack Grealish (for Savinho 46′) – 8

Rico Lewis (for Dias 46′) – 4.5

Ilkay Gundogan (for Kovacic 70′) – 5

James McAtee (for De Bruyne 70′) – 5.5

John Stones (for Nunes 78′) – 4.5
