Phil Foden will return to the Manchester City squad for this week’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Pep Guardiola has revealed his “delighted” reaction to the England midfielder returning to training on Tuesday following a spell on the sidelines having undergone appendicitis surgery.
On Tuesday, the City boss insisted Foden will not need long to get back up to speed.
After facing Bayern in the quarter-finals, the Premier League holders take on Sheffield United in the FA Cup before welcoming league leaders Arsenal in a huge title clash.
Guardiola told reporters: “He has trained just once but we decided he should travel with us and be on the bench.
“He won't play 90 minutes but he is a special player who doesn't need a lot of training sessions to be fit.
“He’s important not just for tomorrow, but for the tight schedule we have ahead of us.”
