Manchester City and England goalkeeper, a 20-year-old, appeared in court on Tuesday to deny charges of possession of nitrous oxide, a class C drug. The player, along with her mother, faced the same offence and both entered a 'not guilty' plea at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court. They were granted unconditional bail pending a further hearing to fix a trial date on Sept. 10.
The charges stem from an incident on Queens Road that occurred on June 18. Greater Manchester police confirmed the charges against the goalkeeper and her mother. Manchester City declined to comment on the situation.
Khiara Keating made headlines last season as the youngest player to win the Women's Super League (WSL) Golden Glove after keeping nine clean sheets in 22 league games for City. Despite City finishing second in the WSL, Keating's performance was noteworthy.
She earned her first call-up to the Lionesses in October and was part of the squad for the recent Euro 2025 qualifiers. However, she is yet to make her senior debut for the national team, having previously represented England at the Under-17, U19, and U23 levels.
