Newcastle United play host to Premier League champions Manchester City in what will be one of their toughest tests of the season on Sunday.
The Magpies have collected four points from their opening two matches - defeating Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest and holding Brighton & Hove Albion to a goalless stalemate.
Man City have continued the stellar form that propelled them to their fourth league title in five seasons last term with back-to-back victories over West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth respectively.
Pep Guardiola will be without Aymeric Laporte until at least next month due to a knee injury, while the City boss is likely to provide an update in his pre-match press conference on the knocks that kept Kalvin Phillips and Cole Palmer out of the Bournemouth clash.
