Man City confirm £51m Erling Haaland deal
Manchester City have announced the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. It is believed the 21-year-old goal sensation has been picked up for a bargain £51million, around £13m cheaper than the £64m release fee that has been widely touted.
The Blues have announced that they have come to a deal with Bundesliga side Dortmund and that Haaland will join them on July 1. And it turned out that the release fee was €60m, which works out at around £51m.
The club announced on their website today: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on 1st July 2022. The transfer remains subject to the club finalising terms with the player.”

Manchester City fans could barely contain their excitement as the club on Tuesday confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland.
After months of speculation, the Borussia Dortmund superstar now looks set to become a City player this summer, with an agreement reached in principle between the two clubs. The deal comes as a huge coup, with the Norwegian having attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester United had all been linked with a move for the 21-year-old, with Real and City emerging as the frontrunners for his signature in recent months. It’s the Blues though that have won the race , with confirmation arriving on Tuesday by way of a club statement.
