A Peter Street bar is on the lookout for a rum enthusiast to take on a very important job role: an official taste tester. That’s right, Revolucion de Cuba is going to pay someone to drink rum and offer up their opinion on the menu,
The Havana-inspired cocktail bar is offering a £1,000 salary and various perks for someone to become their official taste tester – alongside 12 months of booze and street food.
According to the job description on the Revolucion de Cuba website , the individual filling the Rum Residency vacancy will need to ‘love and celebrate rum as much as we do’, and have barrels of enthusiasm for the spirit.

The opportunity comes as Revolucion de Cuba launches its new Latin-inspired cocktail menu – featuring Bacardi Cuatro fuelled Mango Passion Spritz and Miami Vice cocktails – and ahead of their brand-new Rum Masterclasses launching in September.
As with any job description, there are a few requirements. While the contract is only limited to one day, there are some overtime opportunities to consider.
The lucky applicant will be required to:
Review the bar’s newest cocktail menu, including the Bacardi Cuatro-filled Mango Passion Spritz and Miami Vice cocktails
Create a TikTok, Instagram reel or blog article on the top three rums or rum-based cocktails
Put staff through their paces with friends to rate the new Revolucion de Cuba Rum Masterclass
Overtime Opportunity:
Attend complimentary tastings of each of Revolucion De Cuba’s rums with friends over the next 12 months
Applications are open and will remain open until Friday, August 26. The chosen applicant will be selected and contacted on Friday, September 2.

Naturally, those applying for the boozy role must be over the age of 18.
