Manchester Airport issues new travel warning to all passengers

Manchester Airport has issued a fresh warning to passengers travelling tomorrow and Thursday amid the start of Border Force strikes.

The Public Commercial Services (PCS) Union announced further strike action affecting UK Border Force. This is impacting the number of Border Force staff airports have.

The strike will take place on February 1 until 7am on February 2. The vast majority of journeys through Manchester Airport will be unaffected.

However, passengers arriving in the UK on the strike day, particularly those not eligible to use eGates should be prepared to experience longer wait times at immigration.

In a statement, Manchester Airport said: "Passengers travelling back into Manchester Airport on 1 February may experience longer immigration queues than normal due to strike action being taken by UK Border Force officers at all UK airports.

"At Manchester Airport, we do not anticipate any cancellations and passengers do not need to change their travel plans unless otherwise advised by their airline."
