Manchester Airport has sent a message to holidaymakers travelling this summer.
Passengers flying from the airport have reported issues over recent months as the travel industry struggles to recover after the pandemic. The airport has urged all jet-setters to prepare their journey in advance - as M.E.N reports.
Posting on Facebook on Friday afternoon, the airport added: "This includes allowing enough time and preparing your hand luggage for security screening. Passengers should not arrive more than three hours before their flight.

"Those who arrive earlier may be asked to wait away from the check-in area until the recommended time for passing through security. This is to reduce waiting times in both security and the departure lounge."
While the airport advises passengers to arrive three hours early for their flight, if you are parking off-site you might want to allow even more extra time. Other airport time-saving tips include:
- Check-in online
- Buy a fast-track security ticket (if available)
- Choose a late-night flight (most take off in the morning, meaning airports tend to be busy at that time)
- Weigh your cases at home, to avoid having to sort overweight bags at the airport
- Familiarise yourself with the airport layout before you go
- Consider Meet and Greet parking, so you don’t have to spend time parking.
