Travellers are set to face disruption after Manchester Airport closed both its runways due to heavy snowfall.
The move, announced on Saturday morning, is expected to affect a number of flights. In a statement, the airport said: "Due to heavy snow fall, we have temporary closed both runways.
"Health and safety will always be our top priority and operations will resume at the earliest opportunity. Passengers are advised to contact their airline for the most up-to-date flight information."

Temperatures have been plummeting across the country over the last few days. Snow has fallen across Greater Manchester overnight and a weather warning remains in force for the region. The Met Office issued a yellow warning for snow and ice, which is in place across Greater Manchester until noon on Sunday.
Temperatures were expected to remain low for most of the day, reaching a maximum of 2C. People using public transport were being urged to check before they travel due to potential disruption, and drivers were being asked to take extra care on the roads.
Snow has swept into several parts of the UK causing disruptions to transport and forecasters are warning of ongoing severe conditions over the weekend. Snow has been falling and settling in Devon, Wales, areas of north-west England and parts of Scotland.
