Nottinghamshire firefighters have freed a man who had his hand trapped down the back of a sofa in what the service has called an "unusual incident." A team from the Stapleford Fire Station were called to reports of the trapped male on Tuesday evening, August 24.
The fire service said that firefighters were eventually able to free the man, who suffered some slight reddening to his hand. Firefighter Gavin Wilson, owho attended the incident, said that it was a good example of the wide variety of calls that fire crews have to attend.
He said: "It really isn't just fires. I am pleased we were able to help the male without hurting him further or damaging his sofa. We will revisit him later today, make sure he is ok and complete a safe and well visit."
