Man who gives his sperm away for free has now fathered 70 children

A prolific sperm donor has now fathered 70 children - and says it's like "charity work". Kyle Gordy, 31, charges nothing for his sperm and is a biological dad-of-61 - with nine additional women currently pregnant thanks to him.

He has donated his sperm to over 150 families around the world and receives around 50 messages a month for his services, he said. The accountant from Los Angeles, California, has so far met 11 of the children he has fathered - including those in England and Scotland.

Some of the nine on the way are being born in England and France. Kyle - who doesn't charge a penny for his donations - says he sees it as "charity work". He donates his sperm to "help single women and couples have children without having to go through a sperm bank and pay excessive fees".

Kyle added: "I enjoy helping people and seeing the kids grow up and seeing them happy - that's probably the best thing about it. 61 have been born and nine are on the way, but there may be one more that might be pregnant, so there's around 70.

"It's completely free. I just volunteer - charity work I guess you could say. I don't have a number that I'd like to get to; just whoever needs help. When people don't need my help anymore, I'll stop, but sometimes I travel so it hinders me from donating as much."

Kyle has been donating his sperm for nearly 10 years, after his first donation to a lesbian couple in 2014. Relationships and dating weren't working out for him, and he decided he wanted to help other people out. He said: "Relationships weren't working out and I wanted to help someone out that I knew.

"It came up in conversation, she said she was going to go to a sperm bank and I suggested she could get pregnant through me."

Since then, Kyle has gone on to father many more children, without charging a single penny. Asked why he does it for free, Kyle said: "I think it's a common misconception that there's a lot of money involved. I don't ask for money because I don't believe it's right.

"I want the kids to grow up knowing I did this because I wanted to help and not for the money. It's a good feeling knowing I'm not doing for the money. The difference is at a sperm bank, the guys do it for the money and they get paid very well.2

He says only a very small percentage of requests actually progress to a donation stage, when they meet up and he provided them with a cup of sperm to inseminate themselves with. He said: "People usually find me through my website or from people recommending me to friends. We talk about their ovulation and see if it's even feasible but 90% of the people I talk to it's too far away.

"Out of all the 50 messages, I may end up donating to two or three. We do video calls for international ones to get to know each other more and then hopefully meet up and make it happen."
