Man wanted after more than 30 parcels stolen from same Greater Manchester street

Police have released a picture of a man who is wanted in connection with a spate of parcel thefts in Stockport.

More than 30 parcels were allegedly stolen from the same street - St Lesmo Road - over two days in December. Officers believe in the first incident, the man in the picture took parcels from three different addresses on the street between 3.20pm and 3.30pm on December 19.

Police believe he then impersonated a homeowner and signed for a parcel from a delivery driver on the same road. On December 20 at around 3.45pm, the same man is then believed to have tailgated a delivery driver into an apartment complex on the same road.

He got into the mail room of the apartments, before filling a shopping bag with more than 30 parcels belonging to residents, police said. He then fled the scene.

The man is described as being around 5ft 6in tall. He was reportedly wearing a hat and a scarf over his mouth at the time of the incidents.

Police said he was also wearing a black cap and a black bubble coat. Anyone who has any information - or who recognises the man in the picture - is being urged to get in touch.

Greater Manchester Police can be contacted on 101 or by calling the independent charity – Crimestoppers – on 0800 555 111.
