Police officers were forced to close a trainline after a man missed his last train and took the decision to walk along the train tracks to try and get home.
British Transport Police was called to the line near Rainhill at around 11pm yesterday (Tuesday, September 6) after reports that a person was trespassing. Officers attended and the lines were forced to be put on stop while they searched the area.
The force managed to track down the man and give him words of advice before he was handed a community resolution. BTP took to Twitter initially to share its frustration with the incident.
