Man Utd youngster shares Erling Haaland's love for cheat meal they can't buy in England

From his pre-match Lasagne ritual to his love of Percy Pig sweets, Erling Haaland's diet has already provided plenty of talking points since his switch to the Premier League.

The Norwegian striker is used to tucking into a homemade Lasagne made by dad Alfe-Inge the night before matches to fuel his goalscoring antics. But when the chance arises to have a break from his strict nutritional regime, Haaland opts for an entirely different cheat meal.

Manchester City's goal machine revealed previously his favourite food is actually kebab pizza - and was gutted to discover the dish is not something served up on UK shores. Yet while his ideal choice may prove controversial, it seems he is not the only one who is keen on the delicacy.

Manchester United youngster Anthony Elanga has also admitted he is fond of a kebab pizza, but the Swedish international stressed he only gets to eat one when he returns back to his home country - and criticised the pizza-making skills in English restaurants.

Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Elanga - who hails from Malmo - said: "Malmö has the best kebab pizzas. I only eat kebab pizza when I come to Sweden. But when I normally come to Sweden, it’s with the national team and then I never have time to have a kebab pizza, so I hope to do it now.”

Asked if he still eats regular pizza when not in Sweden, he replied: "They can’t bake pizza in England.” Elanga was then quizzed on where he heads for his favourite food, and said: "As long as it’s a good kebab, it doesn’t matter. I always ask my friends. The friends know.”

While Haaland has been unable to source his favourite food in England, he still manages to consume a whopping 6,000 calories a day. Among the foods he does eat, includes cow's heart and liver.

He admitted in a documentary titled 'Haaland: The Big Decision': "People say meat is bad for you but which? The meat you get at McDonald's? Or the local cow eating grass right over there? I eat the heart and the liver."

Elanga may think twice about copying that side of Haaland's diet, but appears no less committed to his craft as he continues his bid to become a first-team regular at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old will no doubt also have picked up a few tips from team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, though the Portuguese superstar did take aim at young players during his recent bombshell interview with Piers Morgan for Talk TV, claiming they "don't care" and are not following the good examples set for them by more experienced players.

Elanga has been one of the first United players to respond to Ronaldo's comments, telling Aftonbladet : “Cristiano talks about young players in general. We are a new generation. I am always 100 per cent focused on what I am doing, but I can understand what he is saying.

“There are a lot of phones and a lot of technology. It’s quite easy for young players to get distracted and lose focus. I always focus 100 per cent on my job and what I do. Young players at United are listening, but I can understand what he is saying.”
