Manchester United could spend big yet again in the January transfer window as Erik ten Hag eyes reinforcements to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Red Devils may be prepared to let one of their stars leave at the same time, however, with Jadon Sancho continuing to struggle for form in the north west. Elsewhere, Ten Hag is set to be handed £173m to complete three huge signings next month, with one of those being a potential right-back who has recently revealed his desire to move elsewhere.
Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer stories coming out of Old Trafford…
Sancho set for ‘surprise exit’
Man Utd winger Sancho has struggled for consistency once again this season and could now be allowed to depart the club in January - but only on loan.
Since signing from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021, the Englishman has failed to nail down a regular starting spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and now Ten Hag, with Chelsea previously touted as a potential destination.
TEAMtalk have now said that Ten Hag could allow Sancho to make a surprise temporary exit in the January transfer window in order to regain his confidence, although a move to Stamford Bridge is said to be out of the question.

United ‘prepare’ £173m January budget
Despite insisting they would not be spending in January, Man Utd are now preparing to hand Ten Hag a £173million war chest ahead of next month.
The Red Devils have been linked with the likes of Cody Gakpo and Joao Felix as they go in search of suitable replacements for Ronaldo, and with plenty of money saved on the 37-year-old’s eye watering wages, are ready to back that up with additional funds for their manager.
That’s according to Spanish publication Nacional, as per football365, who claim that United ‘have €200m (£173m) prepared’ for Ten Hag ‘to face’ the winter transfer market and that the Dutchman is ‘above all’ looking to strengthen his attack.
Red Devils handed Pavard boost
Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard has put Man United on red alert after revealing his desire to leave the Bundesliga champions.
The Frenchman was a target for the Red Devils during the summer as Ten Hag aimed to bolster his options at right back, while he remains keen to do the same in January in order to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka and provide competition for Diogo Dalot.
And according to Sport Bild, via Get Football News Germany, Pavard doesn’t plan on extending his current deal in Bavaria beyond 2024, having previously admitted that he is on the lookout for a new challenge as a result of winning everything possible with Bayern.
