There are only two weeks to go until the January transfer window opens but fear not, Manchester United fans, your club's preparations have long been underway.
The Red Devils are keen to replace Cristiano Ronaldo over the winter, as the club terminated his £480,000-a-week contract last month in the wake of his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan. Now that the superstar's bridges are burned, manager Erik ten Hag wants to offset his departure by welcoming a new forward.
"We will do everything in our power," Ten Hag, who's already told his bosses to pursue Cody Gakpo in January, recently confirmed. "We are doing research at every opportunity and we will do everything we can if the opportunity is there."
Mirror Football brings you a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.
United 'impressed' by Griezmann
Manchester United have reignited their interest in signing Antoine Griezmann, according to French outlet Mediafoot. The 31-year-old forward has arguably been France's best player at the World Cup in Qatar and has excelled in No.10 role.
Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during his first stint with Atletico Madrid. The ex- Real Sociedad star eventually joined Barcelona, although it was a failed endeavour and he soon returned to the Spanish capital.

Ten Hag put on 'red alert'
The agent of Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko has confirmed in an interview with Sky Germany that his client isn't close to signing a new contract with the Bundesliga giants. United and a host of European heavyweights have been put on red alert by the 18-year-old striker's predicament, as he'll be a free agent come the end of the season if Dortmund don't agree a new deal.
Moukoko made his debut for Germany ahead of the World Cup, where he only played one minute in their shock 2-1 defeat by Japan. Ten Hag is believed to be a fan and the Red Devils boss would no doubt relish the prospect of working with another of the world's most talented young forwards.
Pulisic opens door to Old Trafford
Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has left the door open for a move to United. The American, 24, has struggled to nail down a place at Stamford Bridge since signing for the Blues in 2019 and would consider a transfer. "Right now, I'm absolutely back at Chelsea and focused and ready to finish the season," Pulisic affirmed to the Indirect Podcast.
"But you know how things work in football; things change quickly and anything can happen. At the moment, I am just pushing myself in training and working at Chelsea because that’s where I am right now."
