Man Utd transfer round-up: Cristiano Ronaldo move ruled out as Youri Tielemans 'explored'

Manchester United remain in talks for a number of players this summer as they look to complete a number of deals in order to grant Erik ten Hag’s wishes, but things are beginning to stall again as they hit a number of bumps in the road.

Following Tyrell Malacia’s arrival this week, United are now hoping to bring a second player to the club from the Eredivisie in the form of Ajax forward Antony, with reports suggesting the Red Devils have lodged an official bid. Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo ’s future remains unsolved, but Bayern Munich have revealed they will not be signing him.

Mirror Football brings you all the latest transfer stories coming out of Old Trafford…

United make £51m bid for Antony

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Ajax forward Antony for the majority of the summer transfer window, as Erik ten Hag looks to bring at least one of his former players to Old Trafford with him ahead of the upcoming season.

And according to a report by Goal, the Red Devils have lodged a £51 million bid. However, it is also reported that United's bid for the winger is £17 million short of Ajax's valuation, meaning that they will most likely have to increase their offer once more.

United have established Antony as one of their top targets this summer and believe the Brazilian is the answer to their right-wing troubles, while Ten Hag is a huge fan of the 22-year-old and wants to be reunited with him following their success at Ajax together.

Bayern Munich rule out Ronaldo move

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is still up in the air following the news that he told club officials that he wishes to leave this summer should a reasonable offer come in for him, following United’s poor start to the transfer window and the bleak situation at the club.

As expected, a number of clubs will be interested in his services but one who definitely won’t be signing him is Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, according to club CEO Oliver Khan.

Khan said: “Although I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo and consider him one of the greatest players, such an operation would not be suitable for our philosophy."

Tielemans interest revisited

With negotiations to sign Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong delayed once more, Manchester United are beginning to explore further options to resolve their midfield crisis, and could turn their attention back towards Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.

It's been suggested to GIVEMESPORT that United are exploring the possibility of signing Tielemans amid further interest from Arsenal and other potential suitors, with the Gunners said to be in the running for the Belgian ace.

Tielemans has been a long-term target of United’s and has been backed for a move. The 25-year-old only has 12 months left on his existing deal at the King Power Stadium and would be available to sign as a result.
