Man Utd transfer news: ‘World class’ goalkeeper Diogo Costa lauded by Diogo Dalot amid £66m links

Manchester United would be getting a future “world class” goalkeeper if they were to sign Diogo Costa from Porto this summer, according to Diogo Dalot.

Porto reportedly want in the region of £66million for the Portugal international, who has impressed on the domestic and international stage over the past two seasons.

Full-back Dalot, 24, came through the Porto youth ranks alongside Costa, 23, and believes he will one day become one of the world’s top keepers.

United are thought to be considering their options amid David De Gea’s poor form, with the Spaniard out of contract in the summer.

“I grew up with him, he’s my friend, there’s a great relationship between us and I know perfectly well that he has the capacity to one day be world class,” Dalot told an event in Portugal.

“I don’t know if he’ll be at Manchester United or another big club in Europe.

“He shows at Porto that he is a differential goalkeeper and has helped the club a lot. If he continues there, I’ll be extremely happy.

“If he leaves, I hope he has the greatest success in the world.”
