Manchester United are reportedly tracking goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic in a move which could impact Nottingham Forest’s summer pursuit of Dean Henderson.
The Man United goalkeeper spent last season on loan at the City Ground. He impressed with his performances in the Premier League until his season ended early thanks to injury picked up in January.
Henderson has since undergone surgery, but is expected to be back for pre-season. He was replaced at Forest by Paris Saint-Germain loanee Keylor Navas, but he has now returned to his parent club.
Forest are keen on making Henderson’s move permanent this summer but uncertainty over the goalkeeping situation at Old Trafford has put a doubt on the move. First choice goalkeeper David De Gea is yet to sign a new deal with the club and could therefore leave this summer.

However, it seems that United are working on adding to their goalkeeping department this summer. As reported by the Manchester Evening News , the club are ‘tracking’ Serbian goalkeeper Petrovic, who currently plays for Major League Soccer side New England Revolution.
United are said to be ‘interested’ but are yet to make contact. It is said that should a move be made then Petrovic would not come in as first choice, but could possibly open up a situation for Henderson to leave the club this summer by providing more competition to De Gea, or a possible replacement in the new season.
Henderson has been open in his desire to be first choice at a club, with reports claiming that there is ‘next to no indication’ that he will be promoted to United’s number one this season. It means that bringing in further competition could hint that the goalkeeper’s time at Old Trafford is coming to a close.
