Man Utd 'too late' to sign transfer target, Paul Pogba in limbo, Kylian Mbappe date set

Paul Pogba is said to be devastated by the death of his agent Mino Raiola and has not yet decided on his next club.

Manchester United have also reportedly missed out on another striker while Tottenham will have to fight off the interest of Bayern Munich to sign a Dutch international. The Spanish press has given the two possible dates when Antonio Rudiger’s transfer to Real Madrid will be announced - and it could be the same for Kylian Mbappe.

And the big news in Italy is that a huge star is set to leave Juventus for rivals Inter Milan on a free transfer. Here are the top transfer headlines from across Europe today...

Pogba's future in limbo

The Manchester United star is unlikely to play again for the club before his contract runs out this summer for a second time. And L’Equipe reports that the World Cup winner has been “deeply affected” by the death of his trusted advisor Raiola, and has yet to to decide where to play next season.

Available on a free transfer, his former club Juventus and Paris Saint-German are among his options. Pogba’s lack of game time also risks him missing out on Didier Deschamps squad for France’s League of Nations matches next month, starting against Denmark on June 3. The squad will be announced on May 19.

Meanwhile, Old Trafford interim manager Ralf Rangnick has been appointed the new coach of Austria but he will not be signing one of RB Salzburg’s top strikers in his job as transfer consultant. German TV station Sport1 claims new coach Erik ten Hag had identified German Karim Adeyemi, 20, as a potential signing. But United are too late because the 20-year-old has already been lined up by Borussia Dortmund as a replacement for Erling Haaland - another player who had Raiola as his agent.

D-day for Rudiger and Mbappe?

It is no secret Antonio Rudiger is leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid on a free transfer. But AS gives the two dates when the deal will be announced, depending on the result of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City. If Real do not make the final, the deal will be confirmed after their final LaLiga match at home to Real Betis on May 22.

But if they play Liverpool in the final in Paris on May 28, any announcement will be delayed till then. The Spanish paper says the same reasoning will apply to Mbappe - if he signs - with PSG’s final Ligue 1 match being played on May 21.

Tottenham in auction for Dumfries

Inter Milan are ready to listen to offers of €40m (£33.6m) for Denzel Dumfries, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Dutch star has been a successful replacement for Achraf Hakimi at right-back and has attracted the interest of clubs around Europe. The Italian sports daily reports that Bundesliga champions lead the race but claims there is interest from Premier League clubs, “above all the Tottenham of Antonio Conte”. Bayern are also looking at Ajax’s Noussair Mazraoui who is available on a free transfer.

La Joya to join Inter

The reigning Serie A champions might need the money for Dumfries after Gazzetta reported the Milan club has agreed to sign Argentine striker Paulo Dybala on a free transfer.

Juventus decided against offering Dybala a new deal and despite interest from Atletico Madrid and Tottenham, he wants to stay in Italy. He has been offered lower wages than in Turin - €6m (£5m) a year instead of €7m (£5.9m) - but the 28-year-old is set to form a formidable striker partnership with Lautoro Martinez as Inter target a strong Champions League campaign.
