Man Utd 'serious' for £85m striker as talks opened and Liverpool told what £40m Chelsea star wants

These are the latest transfer rumours from the Premier League and around the world

Man Utd make contact for £85m striker

Manchester United have made contact over a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.

United boss Erik ten Hag is very much in the market for a forward this summer, with Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund also on the radar.

But transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Muani is also in the conversation and contact has been made for the hitman.

“For Kolo Muani, the price tag is around €100m (£85million),” Romano stated.

“It’s true that Manchester United had some contact in the last two weeks to explore the conditions of the story. But Eintracht want €100m and also, they still hope to keep the player for one more season and sell him in summer 2024.”

The Independent report United and Spurs have "seriously looked" at the 24-year-old but that PSG are seen as the frontrunners at this stage.

Colwill tells suitors 'I want to play'

Chelsea star Levi Colwill has told Liverpool and would-be suitors that he needs to play next season.

Colwill spent last season on loan with Brighton and impressed, earning him a place in England Under-21's squad for the recent European Championships - a tournament they won.

Liverpool were already keen admirers of the defender but his stock has risen even higher now. The Seagulls have already had a £40million bid knocked back by the Blues.

He's told his admirers his next move will be where he can get the most game-time. "We’re all pushing and knocking on the door," Colwill said.

"Everyone has to pay attention to every player here. I feel like this team we had was more than just individuals. In the past England might have lacked with that. We’ve always had great players but I think this team is so much different. I love this team.

"I’ll speak to my family, speak to everyone I need to and make a decision. I’ve got to play at the end of the day, to hopefully get there and go to the next [senior] camp.

"But if I’m here, I’ll still be happy. You’ve always got to be happy when you’re picked for any England age group. It’s an honour."

Caicedo fears

TeamTalk report Moises Caicedo is concerned a £100million tag is going to price him out of a move to Chelsea.

The Blues have made the Brighton star their number-one transfer target this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino undertaking a massive squad rebuild at Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo nearly left the Amex in January when Arsenal wanted him but the Seagulls stood firm over the midfielder. Now, though, there is an acceptance he will move on but the Gunners' imminent signing of Declan Rice for £105million has given Brighton a yardstick.

Speaking exclusively to TEAMtalk, transfer insider Graeme Bailey said: “I am told that Caicedo is very much Chelsea’s number one target as it stands as they look to bolster their midfield having seen the likes of (N'Golo) Kante, (Mateo) Kovacic, (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek and (Mason) Mount all depart.

“It is my understanding that Caicedo is pushing for the move to Chelsea, the chance to work with Mauricio Pochettino is clearly something that appeals to him.

“Caicedo signed his new deal in March, but Brighton have accepted that he can leave this summer.

“Caicedo’s only real concern is the price-tag, but he knows they are within their rights to ask for what they want and the fact is they see him in the Declan Rice range of £100million.

“It remains to be seen if Chelsea or anyone else will go that high.”

Smith names six who should leave Arsenal

Arsenal hero Alan Smith has named six players who should leave the Gunners this summer.

Mikel Arteta's men were superb last season, leading Manchester City all the way until falling off at the crucial point and were pipped to the title.

They haven't licked their wounds though, with Arteta spending big Kai Havertz and about to break the British transfer record for Rice.

More signings are expected and Smith feels the time is up for a few in north London - starting with Folarin Balogun.

"It is hard because he’s a few notches down the pecking order now, especially with Havertz coming into the squad," Smith said.

"I think the management probably see (Eddie) Nketiah being further ahead of him at the moment, they are similar types of players, and the club must think that Nketiah is a little bit better than Balogun.

"From Balogun’s point of view, he will be thinking more about how much game-time he’s going to get. Given that he doesn’t want to go back out on loan, he may have to leave the football club.

"It’s always a shame when somebody has come through the ranks like that and does leave. There is every chance that he could go on and have a fantastic career elsewhere and score lots of goals.

"If he does move on, it will give Arsenal a chance to recoup quite a lot of money. He’s a valuable player who can probably fetch £30m plus after the season he had in France. With financial fair play and all the rest of it, that that could help Arsenal a fair bit."

As well as the duo, Smith reckons Arsenal should cash in on Nicolas Pepe, Rob Holding, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
