Manchester United continue to stutter along after their winless run was stretched to three games.
United were laboured in a 1-1 draw with Southampton that saw them lose further ground on the top four in the Premier League.
The stalemate for Ralf Rangnick's side followed a 1-1 draw at Burnley and defeat to Championship side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
But what about those players away from Old Trafford this season? A clutch of young players are out on loan away from the club in the EFL this term.
Here, Mirror Football looks at how those players on temporary deals away from United got on at the weekend.
Can any of these players make an impact at first team level? Let us know in the comments
James Garner
Garner has earned some rave reviews thanks to his recent performances for Nottingham Forest.
The midfielder took it in his stride too, with another good showing in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Stoke.
He played the full 90 minutes and hit the woodwork - with the rebound being tapped in by Ryan Yates to secure a point for Forest.
The only blot on his copybook was a caution just after the restart.
Teden Mengi
Mengi played his part in securing a first clean sheet since joining Birmingham City on loan last month.
Mengi played the full 90 minutes as City swept aside Luton Town 3-0, despite having a hamstring injury in the build-up to the game.
The 19-year-old went off after the hour mark in the midweek defeat at Bournemouth but was right back at it against the Hatters.
His performance, and indeed maiden clean sheet, earned plaudits from United colleagues such as Anthony Elanga and Shola Shoretire.
Ethan Laird
Laird was impressing at Swansea until United intervened and decided to re-despatch him to fellow Championship side Bournemouth.
But Laird has yet to feature at all for the Cherries, as he continues his rehab from an injury picked up during his time with Wales.
“Ethan Laird is back training on Monday with us, so he’ll be with the squad," said Bournemouth boss Scott Parker.
“He’s moving in the right direction.”
Laird's last appearance came more than two months ago, on December 11.
Di'Shon Bernard
Bernard is another one the United loan contingent who has been suffering with a slight knock.
He limped out of Hull's defeat to Preston earlier this month after taking a hefty knock. He has since been an unused sub in the last two Tigers' games - losses to Derby and Fulham.
Nevertheless, a recent report claims that Hull have been so impressed with Bernard's form this season that they are contemplating the possibility of trying to make the move permanent.
Bernard, who has made 25 appearances for City, is under contract at Old Trafford until 2024.
Ethan Galbraith
Galbraith was another who didn't feature at the weekend.
The Northern Ireland youngster is at League One strugglers Doncaster, but hasn't featured in Rovers' past three matches.
Doncaster boss Gary McSheffrey said last week: "Ethan’s back at Manchester United for a few days and we’ll touch base and reassess it at the beginning of next week but I wouldn’t say he’d be available for the next couple.”
As it was, Galbraith's temporary employers suffered a chastening 4-0 loss at Portsmouth on Saturday.
Reece Devine
Devine helped Walsall ease their League Two relegation worries with a precious 1-0 win over Tranmere.
The United youngster played the full 90 minutes as the Saddlers sealed the points thanks to Conor Wilkinson's 85th minute penalty.
Devine put in a fine shift and arguably his best performance since arriving last month. Plenty to build on for the 20-year-old.
Nathan Bishop
Goalkeeper Bishop kept a clean sheet as Mansfield's superb run of form continued with a 0-0 draw at Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers.
Nigel Clough's side are now without defeat in 11 league games. Despite testing conditions caused by the wind, Bishop had relatively little to do as Town extended their fine form.
It is now almost three months since Clough's men tasted league defeat.
