Man Utd's enormous Harry Kane wage offer detailed as David de Gea plan comes to light

Manchester United are ready to pay Harry Kane £300,000-a-week as they look to secure his services from Tottenham this summer.

The England star has a decision to make on his future in the coming months with his contract in north London entering its final 12 months. Kane's trophy cabinet remains bare and Tottenham, who sacked Antonio Conte several weeks ago, as well as interim boss Cristian Stellini on Monday, look to be at their lowest ebb for years.

A major rebuild is on the cards, but Kane may not sticking around amid mounting speculation he will seek pastures new after becoming Tottenham's record goalscorer. United's priority this summer is adding a new No 9 and they're ready to give Kane a major bump on his current £200k-a-week salary .

As per The Sun, that will be part funded by the wage cut that David de Gea is about to receive. The Spaniard signed a mammoth deal worth £375k-a-week back in 2019, but that deal will soon expire and, whilst the club want to keep him, they have tabled a much lower offer.

That would free up cash to tempt Kane, whilst they also want to shore-up the long-term future of Marcus Rashford, who has enjoyed the best season of his career to date. United's main marksman is closing in on a 30-goal campaign but his contract will soon enter its final year.

Rashford is seeking a pay rise and, if United land their summer signing, they could be forming a strike force worth £600k-a-week, which they hope will push them closer to ending their decade-long wait for a Premier League title.

United have begun the ground work to sign Kane with the Telegraph confirming initial talks have been held to see what it would take to add the striker to their ranks. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is known for being a difficult man to negotiate with, which means any deal is unlikely to be a quick and straightforward one.

Levy was able to warn off interest from Manchester City back in 2021, but he was in a far stronger position given the years left on Kane's deal. It leaves him in a precarious situation, opting whether to accept a bid or let the player potentially leave for free next summer.

The expectation is that Kane will shun any new deal at Tottenham as he looks to add trophies to his CV. United's next opponent is the north Londoners, with the potential summer switch a timely subplot to the clash. Kane has scored 274 goals for Tottenham, winning the Golden Boot on three occasions.

Levy did insist recently in a rare interview that Kane could "absolutely" win a trophy in north London, providing he sticks around.
