Man Utd's dream line up takes shape under Erik ten Hag with four players incoming

So much has been made of Manchester United's transfer dealings or lack thereof so far this summer, but Erik ten Hag's Red Devils revolution looks set to burst into life.

The Dutchman oversaw the entire month of June without signing a single player - the first time that has happened at Old Trafford since 2010. No new arrivals prompted serious complaints from some sections of the fanbase, but the main issue that has arisen from it has come in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old has asked to leave the club if a sufficient bid were to come in for him this summer due to his frustration over what he perceives to be a lack of ambition from those above him in the United hierarchy.

However, recent reports of potential incomings contradict Ronaldo's suggestion that United aren't doing enough to improve on what was a miserable season last time out. In fact, the first arrival is set to be announced in the coming days.

Dutch full-back Tyrell Malacia has long been admired by Ten Hag ever since the new United manager took his Ajax side to play Feyenoord years ago but opted against it due to the fierce rivalry between the two teams.

At long last, Ten Hag looks to finally have his man after the young Netherlands international was spotted at United's Carrington training base undergoing his medical. United had to act fast to secure Malacia's signature, as French outfit Lyon submitted three bids - the last of which was actually accepted by Feyenoord before a late hijack.

After Malacia, Ten Hag expects to welcome former Tottenham and Brentford playmaker Christian Eriksen. The Denmark international had spent the latter half of last season on loan with the Bees following his traumatic on-pitch cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 which briefly left him without a club.

Eriksen shone in west London and though he was offered another deal with Brentford, it looks as if he has his heart set on a spell at Old Trafford. The two parties have a verbal agreement in place with a contract likely to be signed in the coming days.

From a former Ajax prodigy to a current one, Ten Hag is keen on making Brazilian winger Antony another addition this window - despite his huge price tag. The Eredivisie champions are holding out for around £70m before they sanction his departure.

Both Ten Hag and United's football director Jon Murtough share an admiration of one of Antony's traits in particular - his versatility. The 22-year-old can be deployed on either flank or operate as a false nine and produced a better goal-scoring return last season than Marcus Rashford in fewer games. He could be one of two Ajax arrivals, with Lisandro Martinez also subject of a £39million offer... although the Dutch club are holding out for £43million.

Another man with ties to Ajax is midfield technician Frenkie de Jong - Ten Hag's priority target this summer. Now of Barcelona, De Jong is thought to be in no real rush to leave the Camp Nou but due to the Spanish giant's perilous financial position they may be forced to cash in on the 25-year-old.

Last week saw reports that the two clubs had finally agreed a fee of around £67m plus add-ons, but the move seems to have stalled since then. With that being said, there are no concerns from United's end that the La Liga titans will go back on that agreement at this stage.

Then, of course, there is the Ronaldo situation. Resolve that, and Ten Hag keeps his penalty box killer. Lose him, and United will need to find a new centre-forward, or be left hoping Rashford or even Anthony Martial can rediscover their very best form.

DREAM XI: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Malacia; De Jong, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo
