Ralf Rangnick made a fresh discovery about his side in the late 1-0 win over West Ham United.
Rangnick has faced a huge challenge since taking the reigns at Old Trafford as his players have struggled to fully adapt to his intense press and 4-2-2 formation.
But the interim United boss has now tweaked his system – and made a startling discovery about his best midfield combination.
It comes as star man Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't hide his frustration with a teammate during the Premier League victory over West Ham, and as Rangnick sent a message to United fans.

Rangnick's message to fans
Ralf Rangnick has thanked the Old Trafford home support for helping to push his side to victory.
Super-sub Marcus Rashford turned home deep into injury-time right in front of the Stretford End to seal a 1-0 win that rocked Old Trafford to its foundations.
The goal was a throwback to United teams of the past as the Red Devils once again claimed victory in 'Fergie time' – and Rangnick was left very impressed.
But despite the victory, United's interim boss did have one "wish" for his side.
Ronaldo's frustration
Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to become rather frustrated with teammate Mason Greenwood during Saturday's Premier League encounter.
The two forwards have regularly been deployed together for United this season, although they have struggled to form the sort of understanding demonstrated by United's rivals.
And once again there were several incidents during the encounter with West Ham where Ronaldo showed his unhappiness at the decisions made by his younger teammate.
One, in particular, left Ronaldo throwing his arms up in the air in disgust.
Rangnick's formation discovery
Ralf Rangnick tweaked his formation as United deployed a 4-3-3 during their recent 3-1 victory against Brentford and there were elements of the new system on display once again against West Ham.
The changes seem to be paying off with United securing back-to-back Premier League victories in the two ties.
It now appears that Rangnick has finally found his best midfield combination, that's giving new balance to the side.
Scott McTominay and Fred have been United's most consistent midfield partnership in recent years – but McFred now appears to have been split up and a new partnership are running things.
