Man Utd news: Scott McTominay matches record as Gary Neville takes fresh swipe at Glazers

Manchester United needed a late, late show to see off Omonia and claim three points in the Europa League.

Scott McTominay came off the bench to score the winner in stoppage time as he wrote his own piece of history at Old Trafford. The win keeps the Red Devils in the hunt to top the group as they continue to make strides under Erik ten Hag, who did bemoan their wastefulness.

United have a difficult set of games coming up, which could highlight where they are at under their new manager. Casemiro continues to bed in which can only help their cause and the Brazilian has underlined his dedication to making himself a success in England.

Here are the latest headlines coming out of Old Trafford.

Scott takes Ole's record

Scott McTominay became the first Manchester United substitute to bag an added-time winner in European competition since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's famous strike at the Nou Camp.

The Norwegian's effort in 1999 helped the Red Devils complete a late turnaround to see off Bayern Munich in the Champions League final. It allowed Sir Alex Ferguson's side to claim a historic treble and remains one of the most iconic goals in the club's history.

23 years later and McTominay struck a winner after the 90 minutes was up - albeit with far less on the line. The midfielder's effort ensured United picked up three points in their Europa League group against minnows Omonia Nicosia. The Cypriot outfit were minutes away from claiming a famous point, but were ultimately denied.

Casemiro's education

Casemiro has confessed he watches his own performances back up to four times as he continues his Manchester United adaptation.

The Brazilian, a summer signing from Real Madrid, made his first Premier League start in the win at Everton on Sunday. His display, which begun with a mistake that led to a goal, gradually improved and he was eventually named Man of the Match at Goodison Park, having laid on the assist for Cristiano Ronaldo's winner.

The 30-year-old is clearly a student of the game and desperate to improve, dissecting his own performances after games. He told United's official website : "I think I watch through my games three or four times over. Yes, it's the way you learn and develop by correcting errors. I think it's key to continue evolving in football.

Nev's latest Glazer attack

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has slammed the Glazer family for their 'negligent' ownership of the club.

The Americans have been in charge at Old Trafford since 2005, but have faced increasing opposition from Red Devils supporters. They also recently turned down a takeover bid from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, one of Britain's richest men.

The Glazers have instead slapped an astronomical £9billion price tag on the Premier League club, which means they will likely remain in control for some time to come. Neville has frequently criticised the family for its style of ownership, something he has renewed amid the collapse of Ratcliffe's bid.
