Rangnick's legacy
Manchester United interim manager could leave a lasting impact on the Premier League when he changes roles in the summer.
Rangnick is set to take a consultancy role with the Old Trafford outfit at the end of the season, when a new manager will be appointed. But he could leave his mark after coming up with an idea for Premier League officials to start training with clubs, which is said to be under consideration.
The United interim suggested referees and players train alongside each other in a bid to improve their relationships and the idea has received backing from other managers and officials.
Maguire booed
Harry Maguire’s name was greeted by a significant chorus of boos from the crowd at Wembley when it was announced ahead of the friendly between England and Ivory Coast.
There also seemed to be jeers aimed at the Manchester United defender during his first few touches of the ball following kick-off. Maguire has found himself criticised this season for his performances in a Red Devils shirt, with his side struggling for consistency on the pitch.
And it appears England fans have joined United supporters in questioning Maguire's place in their starting XI.
Rio hits back at Rooney claims
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has resonded to Wayne Rooney's claim that he is "arrogant" by saying the pair "always argued".
According to The Sun, Derby County boss Rooney told a black-tie event on Saturday night: "Rio is a top player, but he is just arrogant. You get paid a lot of money at Man Utd to kick the ball into the net, so just do it. I said, 'Do your job, and give me the ball, give [Cristiano] Ronaldo the ball. Stop standing there messing about'. Rio is a top lad but he sometimes did forget he was a defender."
And Rio has now responded to the comment on his weekly YouTube show, Vibe with FIVE.
