Man Utd news: Harry Kane makes transfer preference clear as eye-catching 23/24 kit 'leaked'

Manchester United are two days away from the FA Cup final, but build-up for the big occasion at Wembley is being overshadowed by other issues.

The perennial talking point concerns the takeover saga, which has now reached day 191 without any announcement or update from the Glazer family. The ongoing uncertainty around that situation is bleeding into other areas of the club, chiefly the summer transfer plans.

The transfer window opens on June 14, when United will begin their attempts to sign a world-class striker. Harry Kane is one of those on their list, but will the Glazers make the money available?

That is one of the questions discussed in the latest United headlines from Mirror Football.

Kane’s transfer preference

United’s ability to pull off the deal may be in doubt, but one aspect of the potential transfer is in place: Kane’s desire to move to Old Trafford.

Kane is under contract with Tottenham until June 2024 and chairman Daniel Levy won’t let him go without a fight after he banged in 30 goals this season.

Yet The Sun reports that United is the only club Kane would leave Spurs for this summer, with Bayern Munich and Newcastle not taking his fancy.

New kit leaked online

Ten Hag and the recruitment team are working hard on plans for the 2023/24 season and, while the identities of the new signings are not yet known, what they could be wearing might be.

New images purporting to be of the new United kit leaked online on Wednesday and make for interesting viewing, with the club crest completely removed from the third kit.

In its place is an image of the devil from the crest, with Adidas opting for a minimalist design on the kit.

Neville tears into the Glazers

The ongoing silence from the Glazers has infuriated Gary Neville, who has hit out at the United owners in a new rant.

“Plainly obvious the Glazer family aren’t going to announce anything on the ownership until the season is closed!” he tweeted.

“They’ve been spinning it out unprofessionally for weeks and months now. They know fan protests would have been more significant than they already have if matches were still being played and the end result of the sale process is unpopular.

“Basically any family members staying in would be deemed unacceptable by all fans. Is this why they’re holding off?”
