Manchester United are aiming to make it back-to-back wins in the Premier League as they take on Southampton in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.
The Red Devils make the trip to St Mary's in good spirits after their morale-boosting victory over Liverpool on Monday. What Erik ten Hag needs is consistency on the pitch after a challenging start to the season, but that could prove hard to come by given the somewhat frantic activity going on behind the scenes at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo remains intent on leaving United for a club which can offer him Champions League football, while a number of senior players have been told they should not be a part of Ten Hag's project. Elsewhere, a transfer which will bring Antony from Ajax to the North-West is edging closer, but the latest comments from the Amsterdam club's manager are concerning.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Manchester United news.
Ronaldo dealt yet another blow
Cristiano Ronaldo has been turned down by club after club this summer despite the hard work of his agent, Jorge Mendes, to secure him a move away from Manchester United.
One European giant who recently emerged as a potential destination for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner are Marseille, who have been urged by former players to make the dream transfer a reality.
However, in the latest blow suffered by Ronaldo, the French club reportedly harbour serious concerns about the financial burden signing the Portugal captain would generate.
Ajax boss speaks out on Antony
Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder made no secret of the fact Antony would like to join Manchester United but reminded him he has a contract at the Johan Cruyff Arena on Thursday.
Antony is the priority target in attack for Erik ten Hag and he has submitted a transfer request with a view to reuniting with his former manager at Old Trafford.
However, Schreuder has moved to emphasise the strong position his side are in regarding the Brazilian winger by declaring he is "confident that he will be playing for Ajax in one week from now".
Evra tells three players to leave
Manchester United icon Patrice Evra has called on senior trio Harry Maguire, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luke Shaw to leave Old Trafford after they were dropped for the victory over Liverpool.
The former left-back suspects Maguire is "paying the price for his [£80million] transfer fee" and accused Ronaldo of creating "a lot of confusion" with the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Shaw was also criticised by Evra, who declared the Englishman "hasn't matched the standard set by Dennis Irwin or myself" since his arrival from Southampton in 2014.
