Man Utd news: Casemiro involved in Bruno Fernandes spat as Harry Kane drops transfer hint

Manchester United's argument for a Champions League place now appears impossible to ignore as the Red Devils strengthened their grip on fourth place.

Erik ten Hag’s men edged past Aston Villa 1-0 on Sunday evening with Bruno Fernandes' first-half goal enough for the three points. Victory saw them move nine points clear of their opponents and nearest challengers Tottenham.

The game also saw a number of protests staged against the club’s current owners the Glazer family as the takeover process continues at Old Trafford. With that being said, take a look at all of the headlines to come out of Man United over the past 24 hours.

Fernandes at the heart of Casemiro spat

Whilst Fernandes was key to Man United’s win against Villa, it appeared that not everyone was a massive fan of the Portuguese come the final whistle. He was pictured having a heated discussion with Casemiro at full-time.

Others around them revelled in the aftermath of a result that keeps Ten Hag's side comfortably ahead of the chasing pack in the race to pinch a Champions League place.

The exchange quickly caught the attention of eagle-eyed Manchester United fans who were watching on television. The clip has already gone viral after being shared on social media.

Kane, 29, is on Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag’s target list this summer as he is on red alert to sign a central striker at Old Trafford.

He said: “I feel like those conversations will happen toward the end about how we can improve. Ultimately, there was another conversation about how we can finish the season in a strong way.”

Zidane makes management decision

Zinedine Zidane is keen on a return to football management this summer but is aware that Real Madrid will not be his destination.

Zidane has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 and was linked to the Manchester United hot seat last season. He was approached by United officials in late 2021 amid the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but poured cold water on any move to English football.

In the meantime, the prospect of him arriving at Old Trafford looks remote with Erik ten Hag currently doing an impressive job with the Red Devils.
