There is a ‘desire’ from all parties for Manchester United to complete a deal for goalkeeper Andre Onana soon, something which could have an impact on Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cooper is keen to make last season’s loan move for Dean Henderson permanent this summer, but has been forced to wait for United to sort out their own goalkeeper situation before any move can be made. David de Gea’s future is in doubt with the Spaniard out of contract at Old Trafford, with United showing an interest in Inter Milan’s Onana.
The Red Devils are said to have seen an opening offer of around £45 million rejected by the Italian team. Sky Sports report that talks are now ongoing as the two teams look to find a ‘compromise’ over the fee.

Should Man United be successful in taking Onana to the club, then it makes it likely that Henderson will be available for transfer this summer. The 26-year-old impressed on loan at the City Ground last season.
He played a total of 18 times in the Premier League, but missed the second half of the campaign through injury. The goalkeeper underwent surgery to rectify the problem, and should be fit in time for the start of the season.
Latest reports suggest that United are keen to talk to Henderson to ask him if he wants to stay at Old Trafford this season. Erik ten Hag is though said to be ‘unlikely’ to sanction his sale to Forest, even if he expresses a desire to leave the club, until a replacement is brought in.
It means that the Reds will be watching on as Manchester United try to complete a deal for Onana. If that’s the case over the next few days or weeks, that may give the club the green light to make their move for Henderson.
