Manchester United have left Dean Henderson out of their squad to face Leeds United on Wednesday amid talks of a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.
The Reds are looking to secure the services of a goalkeeper who impressed during his loan spell at the City Ground last season. The shot-stopper made important saves for Forest earlier in the campaign before picking up a season-ending injury in January.
Henderson is currently back with parent club Man United for the first time since May 2022. He was reportedly reluctant to train under new manager Erik ten Hag last June while negotiations to join the Reds on loan were at an advanced stage.
And the keeper has been left out of United's 26-man squad for their pre-season trip to Oslo, Norway although this is likely to be because he is still not fully fit after his injury. The Red Devils face Leeds on Wednesday in a friendly.

Forest will be keen to sign Henderson as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department. Wayne Hennessey is currently the Reds' only senior keeper, although they do still have Ethan Horvath on their books but his future remains unclear.
But Ten Hag's side also have goalkeeping concerns after David de Gea's departure was confirmed last weekend. Tom Heaton is currently the club's only senior keeper, although they are expected to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan which could free up a move for Henderson to Forest.
Previous reports have claimed that the 26-year-old has told his parent club that he won't accept a place on the Red Devils' bench when the new campaign begins in August.
