Manchester United have been warned it will take a fee of at least £40million to buy Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Raya has starred for the Bees since joining them from Blackburn Rovers four years ago. The Spaniard has become one of the Premier League 's top goalkeepers, but he is out of contract at the end of next season.
That has altered a range of top clubs to his availability, with Raya himself admitting he has already turned down two fresh offers to extend his stay at Brentford. United are one of those monitoring the situation, with boss Erik ten Hag keen to bring in a keeper this summer.
But Bees boss Thomas Frank has now insisted it will take a significant outlay for any team to buy the 27-year-old. He conceded that Brentford are preparing for all eventualities, including Raya departing.
“There is no doubt that David (Raya) is a case where there is one year left and we will see what will happen. We’re very happy with David here. Everyone knows he is a £40m-plus goalkeeper if anyone is interested," he said ahead of Sunday's visit of West Ham.
"We are prepared just like in any position. There is a possibility he’ll leave this summer maybe, for the right price, and if that happens then of course we need to be prepared.

"We’re already a club where players want to stay for a long time. We, like every other team bar six in the world, are a selling club. It’s OK if the timing is right for the players and, more importantly, for us, for players to leave.
"I’m a big believer that if you carry momentum into the end of the season, you carry it into the next season. Every point and every performance is so important. Maybe we try different tweaks, but the focus is always on winning the next game."
Raya is likely to be in high demand in the summer, having kept 10 clean sheets so far this season. Back in February, the Spanish international admitted that his thoughts were turning to his future.
“I turned down two contracts, one last year and one this January. They weren’t the offers we were looking for. I can only say that. I want to focus on playing games and not think too much about my future," he told The Athletic.
"I have a contract here, so I’m willing to finish that, but you never know what’s going to happen in the summer. Maybe the club wants to sell, maybe not. Maybe I want to stay. I want to focus on football and see what happens.
“The club will decide the price and if a club wants to pay money, that will be it. I’m not worried about that. I’m not in charge of that. I have big ambitions I want to play in Europe and I want to fight to win a title. I want to fight to win a European title."
