Man Utd great David Beckham gives advice to Trent Alexander-Arnold during England training

David Beckham has been spotted lending key advice the way of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The former Manchester United star was in attendance during one of Gareth Southgate's latest training sessions in Qatar, as England prepare to take on France in the World Cup quarter-finals this weekend. Beckham's time in the Middle East hasn't been plain-sailing however, facing large-scale criticism for his ambassador roles for the Gulf state.

The Liverpool player, who is yet to start a game for the Three Lions in Qatar, can be seen taking in key advice on his set pieces, something which both himself and Becks were specialists of. He can be seen listening in, keen to grab any tips from one of football's greatest-ever free-kick takers.

He said: ''When I was at United under Ferguson, the moment he saw me off a little bit with either my run up or the smoothness of kicking it, he'd pull me back in and know exactly what I was doing wrong. So I just kept doing the same thing over and over again. I never changed it.''

The right-back goes on to ask whether the rules applied on 'both sides?', with Beckham responding: ''Both sides. I scored one at Anfield where I just whipped it over the wall and went the other side. I liked both sides. Just keep doing what you are doing because you can cross a ball.''

Clearly ecstatic to be receiving such plaudits from the former Real Madrid man, Alexander-Arnold will perhaps hope to utilise Beckham's key advice this weekend, with the Three Lions bidding to make it to back-to-back World Cup semi-finals.
