These are the latest transfer stories from the Premier League and around the world on Sunday, July 2
United chiefs off to Spain to complete deal
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has instructed United chiefs to fly to Madrid to complete a deal for Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni.
The midfielder is back on the Dutchman's transfer radar, and Spanish publication Nacional report the Frenchman will leave the Spanish capital this summer.
After just a year at the Bernabeu, Tchouameni "aims to pack his bags" after United showed "a special willingness to welcome him into their ranks".
Florentino Perez, the Madrid president, is not willing to "settle for less than €80m (£69m)".
Arsenal target absent from training
Jurrien Timber was absent from Ajax training yesterday as a move to Arsenal nears.
The £40million defender is set to move from the Netherlands to north London in a deal which will initially be a £36million fee with £4million in add-ons.
Timber had been doing individual training work at the Dutch base but he was absent from new coach Maurice Steijn's first training session on Saturday, fueling speculation that a Premier League move is close.
Dutch outlet AD report that Ajax don't expect to see Timber back in their ranks.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to add depth to his squad for the season ahead after running Manchester City so close last term.
Reds and Blues favourites for defender
Liverpool along with Chelsea "remain favourites" to sign Sporting CP’s central defender Goncalo Inacio, say Spanish reports.
The £43million-rated defender is also on the radar of Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Liverpool have been focusing on their midfield department recruitment, with Dominik Szoboszlai set to sign in the coming days after a £60million agreement was reached.
But defence will also need to be looked at by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, but he will have to rival Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino for Inacio, 21.
Meanwhile, the Reds are reportedly set to table a £26million bid for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone next week. Described as "phenomenal" by former Chelsea stopper-turned-pundit Mark Schwarzer, the move would represent a bargain deal for the Anfield side.
Chelsea have offered rejected
Chelsea have had an initial attempt to sign Dušan Vlahović rejected by Juventus.
Corriere della Sera report Mauricio Pochettino's Blues have offered €60million for the former Fiorentina forward, who was underwhelming in Turin last term.
Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been linked with the frontman in the past.
